POKEY REDDICK

Hockey Advisor/Mentor

"So many players and families make adverse choices due to receiving poor advice. Helping families make the appropriate choices when it comes to their developmental path is something I both enjoy and take great pride in."

Eldon "Pokey" Reddick is not only long-time former NHL goaltender, he has spent a number of years involved in coaching young players at the elite levels for advancement to junior.

As a player, the native of Halifax, NS played his junior hockey in the Western Hockey League before embarking on a 19-year professional career, with NHL stops in Winnipeg, Edmonton and Florida. He won a Stanley Cup in 1990 with the Edmonton Oilers. Reddick holds the distinction of being the only goaltender at any level of professional hockey to go through a three-round playoff system undefeated. He achieved this feat with the Fort Wayne Komets in the IHL in 1992–93. Reddick had a 1.49 GAA through 12 postseason games, leading the Komets to the franchise's first title in 20 years.

Following his successful playing career, Reddick has dedicated his time to the development of young players, including his son, Bryce, who earned a scholarship with Michigan Tech University, before embarking on a pro career which he is still playing. Pokey was a USHL Assistant Coach in Tri-City, was the Hockey Director and 16 AAA Coach with the Las Vegas Storm and was the founding coach at Faith Lutheran in Nevada.

Reddick brings a whole wealth of experience and knowledge to Hockey Horizons and will make an immediate impact on all players looking to advance their game.
